This process handles ionization and energy loss by electrons and
positrons. It is an implementation of the PENELOPE code in which
care is given to the low energy description of electromagnetic
interactions, including atomic shell effects, etc. It is valid for
incident particle energies from a few hundred eV up to about 1 GeV.
Note: The Penelope electromagnetic processes should not be used
together with "standard" electromagnetic processes such as
G4eIonisation, or else unpredictable results may occur. The one
exception to this rule is that the standard process
G4MultipleScattering may always be used.
